Dum Dum
Dum Dum is a township of Kolkata. It is located in the southern part of Bidhannagar, earlier known as Salt Lake City. A part of it falls under North Dumdum municipality and the other under South Dumdum municipality. Dum Dum owes its name to the village of Dainhat which was on this site before it became a military base. The transplanted hair develops in cycles. These correspond to the growth cycles of the original hair which remains in place, i.e., they both start growing at about the same time and stop at about the same time, unlike normal transplanted hairs which keep on growing for longer than the normal hair. Hence the transplanted hairs are shorter than the normal hair on that head, since they have to be cut back every time it is cut.
